The Jammu Martyrs Day was observed throughout Sialkot and Narowal district by the refugees from the occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in both the districts on Sunday.

The daylong programmes started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country as well as for the early liberation of occupied valley.

Special prayers were offered and Quran Khawani was also held for the Jammu martyrs and earthquake victims at various places in both the districts.

It may be mentioned that the Hindus and Sikhs killed a large number of women, children, men and girls when they were on their way to newly created Pakistan in 1947. The political parties of Jammu and Kashmir arranged special commemorating meetings to pay rich tributes to the Jammu martyrs 1947 and to highlight the highhandedness of Hindus and Sikhs.

Addressing the meetings various leaders and refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts urged upon all peace-loving countries and United Nations that they should take immediate step for stopping the excessive barbarism and killing of innocent Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.

They said that silence of world community especially the champions of human rights and

Peace-over the killing of innocent Kashmiri Muslims was indicating that they are happy over the excessive genocide of Kashmiri Muslims by the Indian occupants forces in the held valley.

They appealed to the world leaders that they should come forward and use their influence on Indian government for stopping the excessive killing of Muslims of held valley.

The Indian government was using the old practice for resolving more than half-century-old Kashmir disputes according to aspirations of Kashmiris and in accordance with the United Nations resolutions they alleged.

On this occasion they lauded the efforts of government and people of Pakistan for sharing the miseries and taking timely step for providing relief to the quake-affectees of Azad Kashmir.

Addressing a meeting, the District President of All Jammu and Kashmiris Muslim Conference Hafiz Muhammad Raza said that Kashmiri have initiated the liberation movement in held Kashmir. They are struggling to free their motherland from the Indian yoke. The liberation movement had now reached at its peak and it could not be crushed by dint of any force and barbarism.

He urged upon the Indian government to take immediate steps for stopping large-scale killing of innocent Kashmiris struggling for liberation of the motherland.

Speaking on the occasion prominent Kashmiri leaders of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim

Conference Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh and Sheikh Muhammad Saleem also urged upon the Indian Prime Minister to announce the stoppage of growing homicide of innocent Kashmiris in held state for restoring the peace in the region.

They also condemned the brutal activities of Indian forces in held valley and urged upon the peace-loving nations that they should come forward and play their instrumental role in stopping the genocide of innocent Kashmiris in the held valley.

The refugees settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts on this occasion thanked the President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for taking revolutionary steps for the early rehabilitation as well as for providing relief to earthquake affectees of Azad Kashmir.

They also expressed their complete satisfaction over the pace of dialogue between Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue. It was President General Pervez Musharraf who had highlighted the burning issue of Kashmir on all international forums as a result of which the world community perceived the gravity of the issue, they added.

Special prayers were offered for the early recovery and rehabilitation of earthquake affectees and Fateha was also offered for the deported souls.
